Graphic Design & Marketing Assistant for City Fitness Australia

Supporting City Fitness Australia’s expansion efforts into the Australian market post-COVID, I was brought on as a maternity leave cover to help the marketing team create compelling branded collateral.

During my time at City Fitness, I worked as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant, creating a wide variety of digital and print materials to support their marketing campaigns. I was still a junior designer at this stage – but the commercial and production skills I gained during this time have proven valuable. I was in charge of designing everything from escalator ads and vinyl wall skins to posters, billboards, pamphlets, and digital content for Google Ads. I also created photoshop mockups and concepts to pitch the interior design approach for applying branding to new gym spaces. This included concepts and production of vinyl skins for walls, logo placements on glass, and branded colour schemes for entryways, desks, and pillars. While I was primarily responsible for executing design concepts based on campaign briefs, I also gained valuable experience adjusting messaging and collaborating with the marketing team to ensure each piece aligned with City Fitness’s expanding brand presence. This role was my introduction to the world of marketing, and I quickly learned the importance of visual storytelling in supporting brand objectives and reaching new customers.
