Kinesis is an audio-visual installation that interrogates poetic themes of empathy, expression and Hauora.
Using projected film, light and sound, the work follows Hauora, a holistic understanding of well-being that values a balance between Taha Tinana (Physical), Taha Hinengaro (Mental/Emotional), Taha Wairua (Spiritual), and Taha Whānau (Social)
This framework constructs a dialogue between material bodies, motion, and kineaesthetic empathy to tell a story of connection and well-being through the gestural language of contemporary dance. This was project was designed by Rachel Neser and myself. We also teamed up with Molly Brankin and Rachel Van Wieringen to create the first exhibition together.
Skills involved:
Design, ideation, storyboarding, art direction, experience design, video editing, audio design and editing, exhibition planning, collaboration.
So, let’s take a peek shall we?
